Good day, kitties! ![]()

After assembling and painting Shinobu, I really wanted to redo my first GK: Remi and Flan, whom I wrote about a couple of posts ago. Even though I’d only painted one garage kit since then, I decided to go for it.
There are practically no photos of the process; everything took a long time and was difficult. Stripping the paint was no easy task in itself, and I had to do it more than once during the repainting process, which did the fragile plastic no favors—here and there, it was eaten right through. The clear plastic turned cloudy after the very first stripping, but I desperately wanted to preserve the transparent effect in the skirts and hair. I managed it partially; you can see it when you hold them up to the light. I definitely need to work on this more :(
For clear primer, I used Tamiya Metal Primer—the only thing I could find. It’s nice to work with and dries quickly.
Here’s what I do have from the process:

Since I couldn’t get a clean fit after painting the sisters’ legs and panties, or Remi’s arms and torso, the first time around, I decided to join them beforehand. I have to say, it was a good decision. Painting them was a little tricky, but on the finished garage kit it’s -practically- impossible to tell that these parts were originally separate :3
After several months of unhurried work, I can say: done! And done for the last time, because I’m not repainting them again. If I ever feel like painting this GK once more, I’d be better off buying a new one and making that one “perfect” ![]()

And for comparison, a few photos of the first paint job under the cut.

As for the result, I’m happy with it. I put everything I could into these girls. They’ll always be my first and my favorites anyway. The important thing is not to give up, and it’ll only get better from here :)
Thanks for looking! ![]()
